Activity Support Project Worker

Blackpool Council Social Care Volunteers Team

BLACKPOOL RESIDENTS ONLY PLEASE To support and promote the wellbeing of working age Blackpool residents who are not working and unemployed to enable them to access activities that will support and empower them to move closer to the labour market. The service will engage with individuals for a period of up to 12 weeks and meet with the service user and Volunteer Support Officer to arrange an action plan and implement it. To provide 1-1 support for the More Positive Together customer to access the community/adult learning Volunteers are expected to: " Take part in the induction programme arranged by VSO " Attend training and support meetings " Meet with the VSO for reviews to talk about how things are going " To provide weekly updates to the VSO " Maintain an awareness of other services that support people and use this knowledge to signpost " Be accountable to the VSO Training, Support and Expenses: " Volunteers receive ongoing support through meetings and monthly social activities " Opportunities to meet on a one-to-one basis with the VSO " Training is offered and further arrangements can be made to meet personal needs " Out of pocket expenses can be claimed back including travel expenses
