Beavers - Assistant Leader

2nd Kirkham Scout Group

Do you have lots of energy for playing games? Are you a first aider at work? Handy in the kitchen? Are you good at crafts? Do you like outdoor activities? We all have useful skills and there are many ways you can put them to great use.

2nd Kirkham Scout Group is currently looking to recruit leaders to assist with running the group, especially in the Beaver section (age 6-8). Beavers meet on a Monday night in term time, 6.30-7.30 pm. We need new people to help us continue running our exciting programmes and bring new spirit to the group.

We believe in helping young people grow in confidence and explore their potential as well as providing a range of adult volunteering opportunities. Prior experience or a connection with Scouting is not necessary and we welcome people from all backgrounds.

We offer a 4-week challenge where you can come along for 4 weeks, watch what we do and have a go, before deciding whether to become a Leader longer term. Please contact Becky Ashton for an informal chat on 07899 816294.

What skills do I need?

You need to enjoy being around children.  Appropriate language and behaviour for this age group is essential.  Confidence to explain and lead activities would be a plus - we will support you with planning and running activities.
