Blue Skies Shop and Trolley Service at Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Blue Skies Hospital Fund is the charity for Blackpool Teaching Hospitals – we support the best in patient care and medical research for Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

We are currently seeking volunteers to help in our shop and with trolley service that operates throughout the hospital and can commit to a minimum of 3 hours volunteering a week.

The Blue Skies Shop is situated in the Outpatient area of Blackpool Victoria Hospital and is open 9am-4pm on weekdays. Our shop is a great destination for staff, patients and visitors looking for a refreshment whilst at the hospital.

Our trolleys travel around the hospital providing patients with refreshments during their stay. Trolleys go out in the mornings and the afternoons.

Our application is the same used across the Trust so it can look quite daunting - do not worry, we only need to know who you are, why you would like to volunteer with us, what skills you have and a character reference. You will be invited to an 'interview' which is actually an informal chat with us so that we can get to know you and how you would like to get involved. Part of the application process will involve a DBS check which will be paid for by Blackpool Hospital Trust.

Our shift patterns are as follows: Shop: 8:30am-11:00am, 11:00am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-4:30pm (Monday-Friday) Trolleys: 8:30am-11:00am, 1:30pm-4:00pm (Monday-Friday) Shifts times can be slightly adjusted in some cases.
