About Us

We at the Fylde Memorial Arboretum are a welcoming group of volunteers who help care for and develop this unique memorial space in Blackpool. The arboretum provides a peaceful place for remembrance, reflection and connection with nature, and our volunteers help ensure it remains a special place for the whole community.

What We Do

While some of our volunteers enjoy hands-on gardening and outdoor work, there are many other ways to get involved. We welcome people with a wide range of interests and skills.

Volunteer roles include:

• Gardening and seasonal planting

• General upkeep and light maintenance

• Feeding and caring for the birds and wildlife

• Fundraising and helping organise events

• IT and website support

• Social media and communications

• Helping to source materials, plants and equipment

• Administrative support

              Help lead guided tours

Whether you prefer working outdoors, behind the scenes, or using your professional skills to support the group, there is a role for you.

When do I need to be available?

When We Meet We meet on: Most days, but our main volunteer day is Thursday which runs in conjunction with Blackpool FC Community Trust 9.30 am onwards We also welcome volunteers who can help remotely or on a flexible basis for roles such as IT, fundraising, and administration. Get Involved New volunteers are always welcome, whether you can give a few hours occasionally or on a regular basis.
