Acorn Recovery Projects

What does Volunteer work involve?

Providing practical and emotional support to clients and their families suffering from drug and alcohol issues, whilst promoting a sustainable recovery and life worth living

Duties include:

  • Support clients to engage in recovery based activities
  • Support clients to develop an understanding of recovery
  • Data input into central database
  • Contacting clients to confirm attendance and discuss with them non-attendance
  • Working closely with other staff members, volunteers and partnership agencies

What to expect:

  • Hands on work experience
  • Induction and on-going training
  • Opportunities to develop your skills and potential
  • An opportunity to further your own personal and professional development


What skills do I need?

Basic IT Skills

Neat in appearance

Able to communicate effectively

Punctual & reliable

Non-judgmental attitude

Good listening skills
