Blackpool Parks and Green Open Spaces
Our volunteers play a vital role in managing and enhancing habitats within Marton Mere Nature Reserve. This unique site supports a diverse range of plants and wildlife including rare and protected species while also providing a beautiful natural space for people to enjoy.
By joining our practical workdays, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new skills, meet like-minded people, and make a real difference in conserving this important local habitat.
Activities include:
Reedbed, grassland, woodland, scrub, and pond management
Coppicing, pruning, and hedge laying
Habitat creation and seasonal conservation tasks
Invasive species control
This role would suit people who:
Like being outside in all weathers
Enjoy working as part of a team
Have a good level of health and fitness
Have a passion for the natural environment and wildlife
