Maintenance Support Volunteer

MHA Blackpool & Lytham

We are seeking volunteers who can provide support for the care home by performing a variety of general maintenance tasks. This role would be a great fit for someone with basic DIY skills who enjoys a variety of tasks. Protective clothing and tools provided.

Some of the tasks this role includes are;

  • Painting
  • Changing lightbulbs
  • Sweeping paths and gardening
  • Health and safety checks such as pull cord checks and temperature checks
  • Assisting the site maintenance worker where needed

What skills do I need?

  • Knowledge and experience in basic DIY
  • Able to use your initiative
  • Ability to learn new tasks through training
  • Well organised with the ability to multi task
  • Flexible
  • To be mindful of infection control and good hygiene at all times
  • An understanding of the needs of older people and comfortable in a care home environment

Details

Opportunities are available Monday to Friday for full day sessions (10am-4pm) or half day sessions ( 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm) from as little as 3 hours a week.
