Properties Manager & Trustee

The Abbeyfield Lytham St Annes Society Limited

Our current Properties Manager has recently moved and we need a volunteer local replacement with the knowledge and practical skills to correct minor problems, or arrange and oversee tradesmen to deal with larger issues, in our sheltered accommodation in Lytham. This is a rewarding job for someone who likes dealing with jobs around the house.

What skills do I need?

The converted rooms and flats in our two traditional houses in Lytham provide sheltered accommodation for some 20 vulnerable elderly people and our House Managers. As Houses of Multiple Occupation, they constantly need minor and major repairs and attention to keep them in good order and meet regulatory standards.
Running a heavily regulated small company providing 365-day per year service is quite demanding. Our society has operated for nearly 60 years, but to continue doing so our current Board needs to be refreshed with new and younger talent. Whilst our employed staff provide meals and day to day services for our vulnerable residents, our Trustees also act in a variety of voluntary capacities to support the operation and minimise costs. As such we are looking for patient, empathetic individuals whose skills enable us to achieve these aims.
A knowledgeable and capable Property Manager, ideally also willing to be a Trustee, is key to maintaining the quality of accommodation we seek to provide.

When do I need to be available?

Morning Afternoon Evening

Subject to occasional emergencies, timing can usually be fitted in to suit the applicant.
