Sitting in Service Volunteer

n-compass

To allow carers a much-needed break from their caring role in order to do something for themselves.

Volunteers spend an agreed amount (normally 2 hour each week) of time at the home of a carer/cared-for person. Volunteers spend time with the cared-for person, chatting, going for a walk, playing board games or watching TV. This allows the unpaid carer an opportunity for a break and a chance to do something for themselves.

The volunteer does not administer medication or undertake any personal care.
