Role Summary:

We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals to join our team as Visitors Centre Hosts. As a host, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, providing a warm welcome and valuable information about our attractions, services, and events. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your customer service skills, meet new people, and contribute to our award-winning park.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Assistance: Welcome visitors with a friendly and approachable demeanor. Answer questions and provide information about the centre’s facilities, exhibits, events, and surrounding areas.
  • Information Distribution: Distribute brochures, maps, and other informational materials. Ensure displays are well-stocked and up-to-date.
  • Visitor Support: Assist visitors with special needs, including providing accessibility information and support as needed.
  • Event Assistance: Support the coordination and execution of special events, including set-up, registration, and other tasks as required.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from visitors to help us improve our services and ensure a positive experience for all.

What skills do I need?

Requirements:

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for helping others.
  • Customer Service: Previous experience in customer service or hospitality is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledgeable: Willingness to learn about the centre’s history, exhibits, and events to provide accurate information.
  • Dependable: Reliable and punctual with a commitment to the scheduled volunteer hours.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow direction from centre staff.
