Help tackle loneliness in Blackpool - be a friend, make a difference

The Bfriend and Wellbeing project focuses on reducing loneliness and isolation in Blackpool by reaching out to those who are in need and providing ways for them to stay connected to others. We offer a variety of social and activity groups throughout the week, as well as telephone calls, home visits, and meeting people out in the local community, but we couldn't do this without our team of volunteers.

We are currently looking for:

Home visit volunteers to offer regular friendly visits, conversation, and companionship in someone's home who may struggle to get out and about.

Community volunteers to help someone get out of the house for activities, coffee, or even just a short walk and talk.

Volunteering is flexible at times that suit you from as little as 2 hours a week and we meet with all our clients beforehand so that we can carefully match you with residents who share your interests.

We offer full training and ongoing support for all of our volunteers including regular contact and check ins

Please note, a DBS check is required for all our home visit and community volunteers.

Information that is returned on a DBS may mean you are unsuitable for this role. If you are interested in volunteering but are concerned about this please get in touch with a member of our team to discuss. All information disclosed will be treated as private and confidential.
