Volunteer Care Home Assistant

Care homes are busy environments with a variety of activity happening every day. We are looking for volunteers who can support homes in a flexible way. There are so many things to help with, either with residents directly or supporting staff . Tasks could vary week to week providing our volunteers with exciting and interesting roles whilst providing much needed support to our residents  which offers the flexible help that the home and residents require. Some examples of the kind of tasks you might be doing are; 

• Setting up areas for activities and helping with the session
•  Filing, photocopying, updating noticeboards
• Serving meals
• Helping residents to access gardens
• Delivering laundry to residents rooms
• Joining in with events or fundraising
• Spending time with residents – playing games, chatting
• Taking a shopping trolley around the home to residents

• Flexible approach and attitude and willing to take on different tasks as needed
• Friendly
• Trustworthy
• Good communication skills,
• Able to use your own initiative, but also able to ask for help when you need.
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to be supportive and non-judgmental at all times to all concerned
• Able to maintain confidentiality

When do I need to be available?

Details

There are opportunities available for full day sessions (10am-4pm) or half day sessions ( 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm)
