Volunteer Children/ Young People Play & Leisure Support Assistant

Purpose:  To assist play staff in supporting our children/ young people primarily on a 1-1 basis in Play & Leisure activities.

During  Term time weekly after school groups , evenings and weekends, during school holidays.

We support children/ young people aged 4-19 yrs who have a disability/ special needs.

What skills do I need?

Commitment, complete DBS check, (this is free of charge) 2 references, complete all relevant compulsory training, attend regular supervisions.

We ask that all volunteers comply with Barnardo's Safeguarding & Protecting Children policy & procedures, Health & Safety policy,

Equality & Diversity policy, Barnardo's Basis & Values   policy, respect Confidentiality.

We ask that volunteers have good time keeping skills, ability to encourage children/ young people to participate in various activities,

be friendly & empathic, always  make contact with the office/ staff when you are not available to volunteer.

We require volunteers for Term Time after school sessions 4pm-7pm & weekend sessions 10am-4pm We also run sessions during school holidays Mon, Thurs & Saturday 10am-4pm
