Blackpool Council Volunteers Team
This service is support people that are being discharged from the hospital and do not have other means of getting home.
A rota is be drawn up of those that have agreed to a set time to be available to collect people. You may receive a phone call during your times asking you to collect someone from the hospital and take them to their home address. This will be within the Blackpool boundaries.
You will not be expected to lift or carry any mobility aids, or push a wheelchair. You will not be expected to support a person to mobilise.
Regular catch ups will be held to ensure you are still happy with the times you have agreed to, and we ask that you let us know when there are going to be times that you cannot cover your agreed times.
Valid driving license with valid MOT, tax and business insurance. This should not cost you any more when using it on a voluntary basis.
Be able to listen and talk to others. Being friendly and approachable.
