Volunteer Gardener

MHA Blackpool & Lytham

We are seeking volunteers to help us make the most of the outdoor space at our home for the enjoyment of residents. Your role as a Volunteer Gardener would be to help with gardening, tidying beds, wedding, lawn mowing and other gardening jobs.

You would also be supporting residents to access and enjoy the garden, involving them actively where possible. You may also be involved in resident gardening groups, or indoor gardening opportunities depending on your skills and interests.


What skills do I need?

The skills and qualities needed for this role are; 

  • Some gardening knowledge and skills, although this can be basic
  • Good communication skills
  • We would love it if you came with experience of garden maintenance but it’s not essential
  •  Flexible, reliable and punctual
  • A passion for people, and gardening
  • A commitment to health and safety within the volunteering environment
  • Able to maintain confidentiality at all times

Opportunities are available for full day sessions (10am-4pm) or half day sessions ( 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm)
