Volunteer Motorcycle Rider

North West Blood Bikes Lancs & Lakes

We are constantly looking to strengthen our membership as the demands placed upon us to help the NHS continue to grow. There are a variety of roles within the charity which enable us to carry out our life saving work. We truly value diversity at North West Blood Bikes and recognise the value that different backgrounds, skills, outlooks and experiences of people can bring.

All motorcycle riders are welcome to join us after meeting some essential requirements: you must have at least 12 months fully licenced motorcycle riding experience and will need to undergo an assessment ride with one of our assessors.

You must be prepared to ride your own motorcycle, which of course must be roadworthy and capable of carrying hard luggage to safely transport whatever the hospitals ask us to carry.

Many of our members hold Advanced qualifications such as I.A.M. or RoSPA, and we encourage and and help riders to become Advanced Riders. After a minimum qualification period, and a final assessment, this enables those riders to use our fully liveried BMW and Honda Blood Bikes.

We will provide you with a full induction and support package, including a hi viz Blood Bike vest or jacket and lanyard. All we ask in return is a minimum commitment to volunteer for two shifts per month.

'I really enjoy Blood Biking because it serves two valuable purposes - saving the NHS much needed funds, and knowing that when a run is completed, I have helped somebody - anonymously' -Rider
