Railway 200
Be part of history and gain a special certificate by volunteering on the Railway 200 Exhibition Train.
This completely unique, free-to-visit train is on a year-long tour of Britain. During its Blackpool stop from 14 May to 17 May, volunteers will assist our full-time events managers to ensure thousands of locals have fantastic visits.
The train has travelled thousands of miles from the Scottish Highlands to the south coast, celebrating a British milestone: the birth of the modern railway.
It’s packed with interactive fun, historic artefacts and amazing stories. Over 70,000 people have visited so far and 9 in 10 would recommend it to a friend.
Volunteers from all backgrounds and with a range of abilities are welcome. No qualifications or previous experience are required. DBS checks not required. Reasonable adjustments can be made for volunteers with accessibility requirements.
In return, we offer volunteers:
A unique opportunity to be part of history
A full induction and briefing
The Railway 200 volunteer certificate
Checking tickets
Helping with crowd management
Answering questions about the train (briefing provided)
Light cleaning tasks at the end of each day
Communication skills
